Lois Martinez – Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)

Lois Martinez, RVT, Circulatory Disorders, Venous Circulation, Varicose Veins

Lois has many years of experience as an RVT, diagnosing and monitoring circulatory disorders of the legs with sonography. Her area of expertise is with the venous circulation and varicose veins. Lois’ skills are invaluable to allow us to accurately determine the source of the patient’s varicose veins and to outline a treatment plan.

Kristi DeLong – Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)

Kristi came to us from the Mayo Clinic, where she became very experienced in the sonographic diagnosis of arterial and venous disorders. In her years spent with the Ellison Vein Institute, she has focused on the sonographic examination of the patient with varicose veins and has extensive experience with endovenous (laser and radiofrequency) treatment of varicose veins, as well as ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy.

DeeAnn Ripplinger – Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) – Vascular Lab Director

DeeAnn was recruited by the Ellison Vein Institute from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, where she was director of the vascular lab. She has spent many years working and training others in the ultrasonic evaluation of the lower extremity circulation as well as the diagnosis and management of varicose veins and other venous disorders. She is highly experienced with the surgical and endovenous noninvasive methods of treating varicose veins. DeeAnn does research and has been published.

Zuleika Gilliam – Sclerotherapy Nurse

Zuleika Gilliam-Vein Nurse – Ellison Vein Institute

Zuleika has over twenty years of medical-surgical experience. She has trained with and worked with plastic surgeons, dermatologists, vascular surgeons and phlebologists treating varicose veins with endovenous procedures, ambulatory phlebectomy and sclerotherapy. Zuleika’s area of expertise is sclerotherapy of spider veins. She is the most experienced sclerotherapist in our area.

Devin Sanchez, PA-C – Ellison Vein InstituteDevin Sanchez, PA-C

Devin received her Bachelor's degrees in Biology and Health Sciences from Clemson University in 2008.  She obtained her Masters degree as a board certified Physician Assistant from South University.  Prior to joining us, she worked as a surgical PA-C in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Mayo Clinic.  Devin is experienced in the evaluation, diagnosis, management, and surgical treatment of varicose veins and venous disease. 

Latrese André, PA-C – Ellison Vein InstituteLatrese André, PA-C

Latrese, a Jacksonville native, graduated in 1998 from Howard University in Washington, DC as a Primary Care Physician Assistant. She has been board certified for over 17 years. She has had a passion for esthetic medicine since very early on in her career and has been improving the skin and legs of patients using advanced technology since 2003. At Ellison Vein Institute, she specializes in techniques and procedures treating spider and varicose veins. Latrese has valuable experience in ultrasound and visual guided sclerotherapy as well as evaluating, diagnosing and managing patients with varicose veins and venous insufficiency. In addition, Latrese has experience in all types of esthetic procedures including Laser, Botox and dermafillers.

Jena J. Snipes, ARNP

Jena received her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of North Florida in 2010. She worked for a couple of years as a cardiac nurse at UF Health before pursuing her graduate degree. Returning to the University of North Florida, she obtained her Master’s degree in Nursing. Jena is a board certified nurse practitioner. She is experienced in the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of the patient with varicose veins and venous insufficiency.

Melanie Barriger Wilson, Doctorate of Nursing Practice

Dr. Wilson has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Florida. She also obtained her Doctorate of Nursing from the University of Florida. She is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner. Dr. Wilson has been treating varicose vein patients in private practice since 2002. Dr. Wilson belongs to multiple professional organizations, and has extensive experience in sclerotherapy, ultrasound diagnostic evaluation, Ambulatory Phlebectomy, Endovenous Ablation procedures, Laser Therapy, skin care, and diagnosis and management of venous disorders.

Sherhea Robinson, CMPE – Office Manager

Sherhea Robinson, CMPE – Office Manager – Ellison Vein InstituteAfter attending business school for Medical Billing and Coding and graduating college at age 16, Sherhea got an early start in the medical field. She worked for five years in the Family Practice Specialty then joined the Ellison Vein Institute team in 2008. Sherhea has the privilege of serving as a board member of the local chapter of the Medical Group Management Association. Additionally, she has earned the professional designation of Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE). Her positive attitude and approachable manner make her a valuable liaison for our patients and employees. Sherhea’s primary focus is to ensure your Ellison Vein Institute experience is exceptional.

Penny Ellison, Business Administrator

Penny Ellison, Ellison Vein Institute, Business, Financial

Penny received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Florida. She worked as a critical care nurse specializing in cardiovascular nursing for many years. Penny later worked for COBE Laboratories as a sales consultant for cardiovascular monitoring equipment working throughout the southeast. She returned to the University of North Florida and earned her Master's in Business Administration degree. Penny handles all financial aspects of the practice and has been with the Ellison Vein Institute since 2001.
